Urgent Prayer is Needed

Hello to Everyone who reads this lovely blog!

Soon school will be out (8 more days) and then one week for me to get ready for Brazil. Well, the urgent prayer is for my team. We have to get visas to go into Brazil (when I was in Guatemala we didn't), anyway, due to different things, some of our visas expired before we could get them cleared. All of our visa applications except a wonderful father and son, Bryan and Brandon Autry, will be taken to the Brazil Embassy Friday. We were informed that Bryan and Brandon's application could not tag along, and so they have an appointment around June 3. We leave June 6. It takes time after you go for your appointment to receive it in the mail.

So, please pray that all of our visas come in, in a timely matter. Because there is a million reasons that I could type about how much Brandon and Bryan need to come on this trip, but I truly believe that the biggest is that God has ordained their time together and their time in Brazil. Please lift us up in prayer.

I received my packing list and the group has practiced again for the Redeemer Skit. We were unable to go to the Youth Detention Center and so it is in talks that we may be performing in front of church one Sunday morning. I have almost everything I need for the trip, just have to pick up Dramamine and headache medicine. The only other thing I would ask you to lift up in prayer is my anxiety. I am not a good flyer and it being 9-9 1/2 hours, I am praying that I will sleep through most of it. I am praying that God will use the whole time before, during, and after for me to just Lean on Him and for our relationship to grow even stronger. So, please lift up my anxiety (panic attacks) and I pray that their is none before, during, or after my trip.

How much longer?

Hey Everyone!!

Well, I got my yellow fever shot today!! It wasn't as expensive as I thought it wa going to be, but it was still $155! I would rather pay that and not get yellow fever. It was over in one second and off I went to check off yet another thing needed for Brazil.

I have a meeting tomorrow and Redeemer Skit practice. I am hoping to get a packing list and will know what else is needed. I was told that I will be in my Redeemer Skit clothes ore than regular clothing. What does that entail? Black shirt, pants, and shoes. My mom took me to Dots and we got 5 black shirts and I have found 2 long black pants and three Capri's. SO, I am clothes ready for Brazil!!
I still can not believe that i will be leaving for the trip so soon!!! As a side note, I would like to give a shot out thank you to my sista Jenny!! Thank you for watching me practice my Redeemer part and not laughing out loud at my mistakes!!! At our last practice I was very excited that I know my part and am perfecting it each and every time. Now only to do it in front of a crowd of 100-200!!!!

Prayer Requests:
1. That our group dynamic only grows stronger.
2. Satan is the father of lies. Please pray that we will not allow the little everyday things and huge things to distort our thinking about ourselves and others.

Thank you everyone who has been reading this. Thank you for praying and please continue to pray for this team. I will be constantly giving the plane ride over to the Lord. Maybe having the first season of Lost on my IPOD is not the greatest idea for a long flight. I am hoping to put pictures up during the trip, but if not, check back after I come back, b/c I will be filling this up with pictures!!!!

Almost Brazil Time!!

So, another post before going to Brazil. I am excited to report that I have all of the money for my trip!! Yeah, Yeah! Thank you so much for everyone who has donated and prayed for me. I still can not believe that I will be on a plane in a month! I think that because this ending of the school year has been crazy, I haven't been as focused as I should about Brazil. And I think b /c I had been training so much for my half marathon, which I completed last weekend, I have not been able to focus on the trip. So, even though I have signed up for another half marathon in October, I can use the time on the treadmill and on the pavement to have one on one time with the Lord.

I think my last post stated that I had my shots up to date, but am going to take the yellow fever shot this Tuesday. Please say a prayer for me! It's going to be expensive b/c I am going to a different travel clinic and will have to pay for the shot and coming in fee. Since there has been said a couple of breakouts of yellow fever in the country, I am going to just be safe and get the shot. Even though the places that we are going to show no yellow fever, I am still going to get the shot. Because you never know, I may go again and will need the shot.

So, please continue to pray for my Team! We have had a change and now will have a new leader, Mike B., whom I really love. Our team is also going to a Detention Center on May 16 to perform the Redeemer Skit. So, that means I really need to know my part. Please pray for our continued unity and that donations will come in for those who still need money. Please pray that I will use this upcoming time and summer to really focus on paying bills and not spending excessive amounts of money. I will need to make wise decisions this summer concerning money, since I will not have the after school program part of my check coming in.

Thank you for your continued support and reading this blog. I am so excited to see what God has in store for me this summer and really beyond.

And as of today, we para pros still do not know about our jobs for next year. Please say a prayer that will find out in a timely manner and also that kind thoughts and words will come out of my mouth during this time at work.

Another Set of Shots

Yikes!! I went to my doctor to get a regular check up and to get Hep A booster and Hep B shots since I didn't have them. Well, I was given the first in the three set of Hep B. Since I got the Hep A shot when I went to Guatemala for the first time like forever ago, I thought I didn't need it again. What i didn't do, mainly b.c I can't stand needles, is not get the rest in the line of Hep A shots. So, the doctor asked me if I wanted to get a blood test to see if I needed the shots all over again, or to just get the Hep A's again. I got the blood test. I am hoping that it comes back that i am good to not need the Hep A's again. So, I got a shot and my blood taken today. I could hear the doctor telling the male nurse, Murse I liked to call him, that I was "scared of needles and to watch out b/c I might faint", when she was telling him what I needed. So I am praying that I won't need any Hep A shots, while in a month I need another Hep B to almost finish out the cycle.

Thanks for listening.

Okay, there's my Bugs Bunny band-aid. When speaking with the nurse about where exactly in Brazil I am going, I was only given the Typhoid shot. If I find out that it's other areas in Brazil, then I will go back to get the Yellow Fever one. I also have to get a Second Hep A and Hep B, which I somehow thought that I had, but I have not. So, please pray for me on Weds, when I have a regular doctor's appointment to get those.

The trip is going to be exactly two months from today.

Thank you to all who read this lovely blog. I hope that once I get back from Brazil to put all of the wonderful pictures that I will take. Stories will be written about the trip also.

Well, I had yet another Brazil team meeting this afternoon. I have found out that I only need $175 for my trip. thank you to all who have already donated and there is still time left for those who feel in their hearts to contribute. I am going to put my address at the end of this posting.
Tomorrow I will need prayer, for it is when dreading, I get my shots. Another team member went to the same place I am going to and said that she only needed one shot and it did not hurt. I will be listening to music and trying not to think about anything. I also found out that the shots will run me around $300, typhoid and yellow fever, which adds to what I need for the trip.

Our team will have one more practice of The Redeemer before performing it in front of a Youth Detention Center on May 16Th. I have been watching a DVD and practicing for my part as the "Party er". Anyone who knows me knows that it is a stretch for my performance.

So, two months from now I will be leaving for Brazil. It has not hit me until today that the trip is that close. Next meeting we are getting our packing lists, which Insect Spray will be first on it I believe. I am so excited to see how God will work through my anxiousness of flying on a plane and getting out in front of crowds to speak. I am just excited to see Brazil and what it has to offer.

I do have some prayer requests that you could lift up that are personal and from my group.
1. Some of my group members are still having a hard time bringing donations. If you could pray whatever your heart tells you but in the least please pray that those of us will not be anxious about needing money.
2. Some of you may not know that there has been budget cuts from my school district. What does that mean? It may mean that my job as a kindergarten para pro may go up in smoke. There is a good chance that the amount of para pros will be cut in half. Please pray for wisdom to who makes those decisions. Please also pray that the words that come out of my mouth and my thoughts towards others at this time would be Godly and fruitful.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I will fill you all in about my shots and anything that comes up before the next meeting. I halfway wonder who reads this thing and if not for nothing, it will remind me of the time that I grew close to God.

Another Team Meeting

Hello to Everyone who reads this lovely blog.

I still have three months till i leave for Brazil, but I feel like it is going to approach really fast. We had a meeting on Saturday to go over/learn our parts for the Redeemer Skit. Now, if you haven't seen or do not know what I mean, check out my blog part below or above that shows you how to watch it on YouTube. I will be playing the part of "partier", which if you have seen the skit, I open beers and party in front of Man. The part is so much more than I can describe on this little sentences. Please check out the clip to really get a glimpse into what we are going to be doing in Brazil. Since I have been watching a DVD of the skit and did the Saturday learning, I still feel like I need some practice. So, please pray for me.

Praises go out for the money that I have already been given. I am not that far away from my goal!!!

The Brazil team had a meeting on Sunday and we were told the flight times and when to be at the airport. Since my notebook is downstairs, I will post the times and dates later. But I would like you to pray about is that it is going to be an eleven hour flight. It's overnight, but me have being in the air only three hours to Guatemala, it's different.

Everyone in the group was asked to give their testimony and it was my turn last Sunday. I shared what was on my heart and I pray that we can become closer as a group with knowing what everyone has shared.

Prayer Request:
1. For money to come in for me and my other team members
2. I am going to get my vaccines (yellow fever and typhoid) at the beginning of April, during my spring break. Please pray that for calmness.
3. That i will take the time to look over my part in the Redeemer Skit, but not only that, but to have time with the Lord each day to pour my heart out to him.
4. My sister did a half marathon two years ago and I promised myself that if she ever did it again, that I would be not on the sidelines but with her. I have been doing long jogs on Saturday mornings and have been trying to get to the gym alot during the week. The half marathon is at the end of April and I believe that this is the first time in my life that i am doing something for myself and no one else. Please lift up my training time and that I will continue to see how wonderful it's going to be to cross that finish line.

Thank you all who have been reading this and commenting. I love comments.
